What a better way to culminate the celebration of Nutrition Month in the province than an activity that holds on to the objective, a healthy body is a healthy mind! Last July 31, 2015, the Provincial Nutrition Council ended the month long nutrition celebration with fun fare as they spearheaded the activities starting with a zumba at the capitol grounds followed by a colorful one kilometer fun run around the city.
The Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) held its second council meeting for 2015 last Monday, August 3, 2015 at Kafe Cristina with the chairman, Acting Governor Vince Revil as the presiding officer. Special guest during the council meeting was the Regional Director of the Philippine National Police, Police Chief Superintendent Victor Deona who gave an emphatic message to clear his name after he was dragged in illegal fishing activities in the province.
Acting Governor Vince Revil issued an executive order reorganizing the members of the Provincial PAMANA Convergence and Coordinating Committee (P2C3) in preparation for the implementation of PAMANA projects for 2015.
“Payapa at Masaganang Pamayanan (PAMANA” program, a nationwide converged peace-building project of the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace Process (OPPAP) continues its development of conflict- affected areas and vulnerable communities in the province of Masbate. PAMANA, which started being implemented in the province in 2011 with Mobo, Monreal and San Pascual as pilot areas/focused municipalities on its first year of implementation, has now included other municipalities identified after a series of consultations with the Department of the Interior and the Local Government (DILG) and LGUs.

The provincial government of Masbate, in coordination with UPLB Masbateños and UP Lawod, organized the first Provincial Environmental Youth Summit with its theme, “Project Restoration: Renewing the Face of the Earth”. This was held at Dacu Beach Resort, Mobo, Masbate from July 3 to July 5, 2015. More than 100 Masbateños from Aroroy, Baleno, Balud, Cataingan, Cawayan, Claveria, Dimasalang, Mandaon, Milagros, Mobo, Monreal, San Fernando, San Pascual, Uson and Masbate City participated during the event. Balud Municipal College, DEBESMSCAT, Liceo de Masbate, Masbate School of Fisheries, Osmeña Colleges and Southern Bicol Colleges also sent students to be part of the activity. The summit was organized by numerous youth volunteers from UPLB, UPD, UPM, ADMU, UST, and Osmeña Colleges.
